Beavers is the second section of our Scouting Family at 1st Topcliffe.  You don't need to have been in Squirrels to join Beavers, you just want to try new things.

These turquoise ninjas have a thirst for fun and friends; as well as learning new skills.

Young people can join Beavers in the three months leading up to their 6th birthday; and can then move up to Cubs between 7.5 and 8.5 years old.

Our Beaver Colony meets on Tuesdays, 6.15pm-7.15pm in Topcliffe and Asenby Village Hall.

A group of Beavers is called a Colony.

Our leaders are called Pebbles, Mountain and River; but you will also often see Sunshine and Akela there too! A Beaver Colony is made up of four lodges - at 1st Topcliffe our lodges are Red, Orange, Green and Blue. Each Lodge has up to six Beavers - one of whom is the Lodge Leader.

When you join Beavers, you make a Promise. The Promise for Beavers is:

'I promise to do my best, to be kind and helpful, and to love God'*

Beavers work towards the Chief Scout Bronze Award.  This is made up of 6 Challenges and a minimum of 4 activity badges.  The Challenge awards for Beavers are: My Adventure Challenge, My Outdoors Challenge, My Skills Challenge My World Challenge, Personal Challenge and Teamwork Challenge. Follow the link to find out more about all these badges and more information: https://www.scouts.org.uk/beavers/

* alternate promises are available for other faiths and atheists.
